Greenwich: Looking Sharp Against Poly Prep

Greenwich once again has to be considered a front runner for the FCIAC title, based on what I saw of them this morning against Poly Prep of Brooklyn.

T.J. Cameron (29) could be the real deal at running back for the Cardinals, and showed it with a sweep down the left sidelines, untouched, for a long distance touchdown. And Greenwich's defense is quick and swarming.

There's a four way battle for the starting quarterback spot between seniors Joe Poletsky and Matt Piro, who both saw time last year for the Cardinals, and juniors Tucker Stafford and Cody Gifford (yes, that Cody Gifford). Poletsky showed a rifle arm on a waggle pass to Steve Strazza. Rich Albonizio praised all four quarterbacks in the Greenwich Citizen-News recently, saying each brings something different to the table.

Despite the rain, Greenwich is scheduled to scrimmage Trinity Catholic later today.
